Gates Brown
During his thirteen-year career with the Detroit Tigers, Gates Brown was known as one of the game's best clutch hitters thanks to his success as a pinch hitter. One of his finest seasons came in 1968 when he collected 18 pinch hits in 39 at bats for a .461 average, helping the Tigers to the World Championship. At the time of his induction, he was 10th on the major league career pinch hits list. Inducted into the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame in 2002
