Lorenzo Christopher Wright

Wayne State's greatest track and field athlete tabbed "A One-Man-Track-Team." Set 1948 National AAU Indoor Long Jump record at 25'3 3/4", two-time Penn Relays Long Jump champion, member Wayne State's 440 and 880-yd chapionship and record-setting relay teams at the Penn relays. Gold medal Winner 1948 Olympic 440-meter relay team in London. Later coached alma matter Miller High, Eastern and Southwestern High Schools. Lectured and coached at University of Nigeria. In 1968 named supervisor of Detroit Public Schools Athletics. Inducted into the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame in 1973.
