2007 INDUCTION CEREMONY - TICKETS AVAILABLE

DETROIT (Dec. 10, 2007) - The Michigan Sports Hall of Fame (MSHOF) announced today that the Class of 2007 will be formally enshrined at the 53rd Annual MSHOF Induction Ceremony Presented by Big Boy Restaurants on Monday, Feb. 11, 2008, to be held for the first time at the Max M. Fisher Music Center.

Tickets are $250 for a V.I.P package which includes prime seating, a special 5 p.m. reception with inductees and MSHOF members, a 6 p.m. strolling supper and the 7:30 p.m. induction ceremony in Orchestra Hall, and a $150 ticket* (*$75 for ages eight to 12) which includes the strolling supper and the induction ceremony. A special first-time offer will provide sports fans with the opportunity to purchase a $35 MSHOF "Upper Deck" balcony-level ticket to the induction ceremony including a limited-edition commemorative Class of 2007 poster. All tickets can be purchased at www.detroitsymphony.com, by calling 313-576-1111, or in-person at the Detroit Symphony Orchestra Hall box office at 3711 Woodward Avenue.

The event will also feature the announcement of the MSHOF Wright & Filippis Courage Award presented annually to a sporting figure who has demonstrated dedication and perseverance in the athletic arena. Other event highlights include a Hollywood-style red-carpet entrance complete with special commemorative photographs, and the addition of the support of new sponsors and media partners: The Detroit News; News/Talk 760 WJR AM Radio; and Comcast Local, who will add significant excitement to the event. Details of a variety of media partner programs will be announced separately in the near future.

  • Long-time local amateur hockey supporter and NHL team owner, Peter Karmanos
  • WJR AM 760 play-by-play announcer and pioneering sports talk host, Frank Beckmann
  • U-M Heisman Trophy winner and Super Bowl MVP, Desmond Howard
  • Olympic gold medalist swimmer from Michigan State University, Clarke Scholes
  • NHL Hall of Famer and Detroit Red Wing great Norm Ullman
  • Detroit Piston player and 1974 NBA Coach of the Year, Ray Scott
  • Olympic gold medalist and kayaking legend from Homer, Mich., Greg Barton
  • University of Michigan great and NBA All-Star from Flint, Glen Rice
